Position Summary
Provides district-wide leadership, coordination and administration of federal, state and local financial aid programs including the formulation of policy and procedural recommendations. Performs complex, highly responsible and confidential administrative duties in different areas requiring broad experience and comprehensive knowledge of financial aid and the organization policies and procedures.  Serve as a liaison between the District Financial Aid Office and state and federal agencies. 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of computerized applications and financial aid reporting requirements. Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintains records, generate reports and communicate. Proven oral and written communication skills to interact with a broad variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds including, but not limited to DCCCD staff, students, prospective students, external funding agencies and auditors etc. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Master's degree or higher plus three years’ experience in student financial aid, including supervision.  Current and valid drivers license for occasional off site travel.  Official transcript will be required.  *** Will be subject to a criminal background check.  Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check. *** 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Researches issues and recommends solutions within approved policies and procedures through appropriate channels.  Reviews, recommends, and interprets policies and procedures in adherence with federal and state law.  Assists in operational procedures such as Auto packaging Awards, Award Adjustments, and loan processing.  Assists in the completion of federal, state and District reports.  Maintains and update the Financial Aid policies and procedures manual and assist with district wide reporting and research projects.  Supports the development and evaluation of Financial Aid training materials and programs.  May analyze a variety of Financial Aid functions and provide constructive feedback regarding program compliance and customer service.  May coordinate compliance evaluation audits.  Identifies and supports departmental interim, registration, and staffing needs. Provides supervision, evaluation or guidance to a variety of staff involved in projects and tasks as assigned.  Performs other duties as assigned.
