Position Summary
Under general supervision assists in the construction and repair of structures and fixtures made of wood, metal, or vinyl material. May also install cabinets, siding and drywall.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Requires the ability to use a wide variety of power tools including but not limited to saws, drill presses, drills, routers, sanders, etc. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, push, lift, dig, haul, pull, reach, carry, lift, grasp, squat or stoop, bend and twist the body while performing essential duties, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk or hear. The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include ability to distinguish the nature of objects by using the eye.



Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Graduation from high school or G.E.D. plus one year of experience as a carpenter. Valid driver's license required. ***Will be subject to a criminal background check and fingerprint check.***

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Removes and replaces wallboard, door panels, blackboards and bulletin boards; paints and stains woodwork and furniture and maintains brick/masonry walls. Constructs, erects, installs and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood and wallboard, sheet rock, acoustical ceiling systems, paneling baseboards, plaster and drywall. Follow established safety rules and regulation and maintain a safe and clean environment. Builds cabinets and shelving. Complies with all applicable health and safety regulations, policies and established work policies. Repairs and adjusts automatic doors; repairs and replaces locks. Performs related work as required.
