Position Summary
Responsible for the overall planning, staffing, budgeting and the supervision of full-time and part-time personnel for various departments and programs.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports and communicate with others. Advanced oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. The ability to provide quality customer service.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Master’s Degree plus three (3) years of community college administrative experience, including a minimum of six years of teaching and/or teaching experience in a higher education institution (if the position is within the college’s instructional programs), including broad based supervision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the supervision of various programs, including the development of new programs, curricula, syllabi, teaching assignments, room assignments and the evaluation of the effectiveness of new and existing courses, instructors, programs, or services. Participates in the selection, training, and evaluation of full-time employees through the recruitment, interview and recommendation process. Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all full-time/part-time employees and other contractual staff members assigned to area. Develops, implements and monitors budget for all services within the assigned area. Responsible for implementing policies and procedures as determined by the DCCCD Board of Trustees and the rules, regulations and laws of state and federal agencies as they relate to the assigned area. Contributes to or perform research and develops reports summarizing area activity and projecting data related to things like contact hours, student population, career/business/industry needs, tracking, transfer, etc. Facilitates problem solving for appropriate college personnel and students as required. Works with other administrators to ensure coordination of college-wide efforts to meet the goals of the College Plan. May instruct classes, arrange for substitutes, or conduct classes for ill/absent instructors. May fill in for other functions or arrange for appropriate substitutions to fulfill area services. May write, review, approve or administer grants. May coordinate or schedule semester course offerings, participate in registration process, provide academic counseling for students and coordinate textbook selection/order process. May develop and revise college catalog, instructional brochure, information handouts, etc. May serve as the location administrator in charge in absence of Vice President or President. Performs other duties as assigned.
