Position Summary
Performs general office functions and coordinates the support activities of a department or division. Performs general office functions including typing, accounting, and record keeping, maintaining department files, updating records, verifying documents, processing forms, and performing related calculations.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Intermediate knowledge of personal computer software/hardware and interface with mainframe applications. Oral and written communication skills to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Some positions require typing and/or ten key operations. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.

Physical Requirements
Work with light, easy to handle materials requiring little physical effort. Some positions may occasionally be required to lift and carry moderately heavy material or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Graduation from high school or equivalent plus two years of experience in the specific area to which the position is assigned or equitable advanced general office experience.  ***Will be subject to a criminal background check.  Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check.***


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides assistance to current or potential students. Coordinates special specific office functions, including but not limited to, maintenance of mailing lists and mail outs; arranging of office equipment; ordering textbooks, handling PO’s, processing final grade rolls, etc. Performs research, analyzes results, and prepares summary reports. Acts as a resource person for the department in answering inquiries of varying complexity relating to the specific functions of the department. Receives and accumulates data; verifies accuracy, completeness andcompliance with DCCCD policy and procedures, office procedures, and/or state/federal regulations related to department functions. Maintains records of department expenditures nd provides information relating to budget balances to department head. Coordinate external/internal utilization of campus facilities. Performs related duties as assigned.
