Position Summary
Responsible for performing advanced level assistance for the marketing department; providing a wide range of internal and external services related to the department and the campus/location. Requires initiative and independent judgment to oversee high level administration operations within the marketing department.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to organize information and resources and communicate directly with the public at a high level. Extensive knowledge of District and location programs and services. Advanced knowledge of computer technology to access data, maintain data, generate reports, and communicate with others. Ability to interpret and apply administrative and department policies, regulations and rules. Ability to interact with a wide range of DCCCD staff, students, faculty, and external agency representatives from diverse backgrounds. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.

The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include ability to distinguish the nature of objects by using the eye.


Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher plus three years of experience in marketing or public relations or Associate’s degree plus five years of related experience in marketing or public relations or graduation from high school or equivalent plus seven years of experience in marketing or public relations. Official transcripts will be required. ***Will be subject to a criminal background check.  Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check. ***

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides high-level support and assistance to multiple departments in the marketing department, as directed by the supervisor. Uses initiative and independent judgment to oversee high level administrative operations within the marketing department including the handling of sensitive information and documents. Develops, coordinates, implements and manages systems of response to phone, email, web and written queries from students, community, staff and faculty requiring advanced knowledge and upkeep of campus/location programs and services. Serves as contributing writer to departmental publications as assigned. Performs public relations duties through contacts and associations with internal and external customers at all levels, including high-ranking officials and members of the Board of Trustees. Serves as the primary customer service representative for the department and campus/locations. Performs related duties as required.
