Position Summary
A front-line position responsible for the circulation of college/location media materials (e.g. DVD, and audio). Updates circulation and patron records, processes payments for rental fees and overdue fines, and assists in the maintenance of audio/video collections.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds in stressful situations. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy materials weighing up to 20 - 50 pounds.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
Graduation from high school or equivalent, plus one year of general office experience or one year experience working in a media distribution environment. Basic knowledge of computer technology in order to maintain data, generate reports, communicate with others. *** Will be subject to a criminal background check.  Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check. ***

Computer skills using Word and Excel and know how to create, find and save documents to a computer is a plus.

Hours:  Mon/Wed.    11:30a  – 3:30p      Tues/Thurs    3:30p – 8:00p 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Utilizes automated library system to check out DVD, video and audio materials to students. Works with the automated library system and with the online academic system to enter data, search databases, edit records, and verify information. Accepts cash, check or credit card payments for material rental fees, overdue fines and for replacement of lost or damaged audio/video materials. Assists in the inventory of the DVD and audio collections; examines records and materials to determine status of missing items and or update newly acquired materials. Notifies students of overdue materials and non-returned items; assists in the maintenance of and update of online block records for delinquent patrons on both library and academic system. Assists in providing assistance and training to new staff in use of automated systems and collection maintenance. Accepts media reserve items from faculty, and is responsible for distribution and retrieval of reserve materials to students. Troubleshoots minor equipment problems; refers unresolved equipment problems to supervisor. Responsible for processing dubbing/copying media material requests on file and for the upkeep and replacement of existing materials. Performs other duties as assigned.
